         We walk in Beauty

2022 -
Exhibition / Research Collaboration
https://www.nizhoni.be/

Nizhónígo Yííkado - We Walk in Beauty  is a collaboration of Native American, American, and artists, performers, scientists,  painters, sculptors,  and researchers working in Belgium. The project considers our place on Earth in the context of the circular interconnectedness (of humans and non-humans). Photography, sensorial walking tracks, poetry, and talking events give an account of the plenitude of ways in which people engage with their environment in the present and the past, opening doors towards possible futures.

Between November 18 and December 17, 2022 a series of events and public moments in multiple locations in Brussels, Ghent, and Antwerp took place in the framework of the project.

WALKING TRACK
The walking track reveals the praxis of making footwear and walking in cultural and historical contexts, bringing a reflection on one's own walking pattern.

A collaborative action by Brent Toadlena, Ephraim Anderson, Crystal Littleben, Lieven Standaert, Tobias van Nieuwenhove, Benjamin Bellorado and Catherine Willems

In beauty I walk

With beauty before me I walk

With beauty behind me I walk

With beauty above me I walk

With beauty all around me I walk

In beauty it is finished,

In beauty it is finished,

In beauty it is finished,

In beauty it is finished.
